Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Alke (“Alke”, “we”, “us”), a service operated by Joven Kemp, collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your information when you use the Alke application and website at getalke.com (the “Service”). It also describes the rights you have over your data.

Alke is a voice-first assistant for fitness and health. It records your workouts and daily health metrics — including data you choose to import from your Garmin device — and presents them back to you as trends, summaries, and reminders. We take the privacy of health information seriously, and we only collect what we need to provide the Service to you.

1. Who we are & how to contact us

Alke is operated by Joven Kemp. For any privacy question, request, or complaint, contact us at joven.kemp@getalke.com. This is also the point of contact for data-access, correction, and deletion requests described below.

2. Information we collect

a. Account information

When you create an account, our authentication provider collects your email address and the credentials needed to sign you in securely (for example, a password or a sign-in with Apple or Google). We do not store your password ourselves.

b. Health & activity data from Garmin (with your consent)

If you choose to connect your Garmin Connect account, you authorise Alke — through Garmin’s official OAuth 2.0 authorisation flow — to import the following categories of data that your Garmin device and Garmin Connect record:

You explicitly authorise this connection yourself, and you can revoke it at any time (see “Your choices and rights” below). Garmin data is imported only to provide the user-facing features of the Service.

c. Content you provide

What you tell Alke — spoken or typed — such as workouts, meals, notes, tasks, and reminders. When you speak to Alke, your audio is transcribed to text so the assistant can respond; we use the transcript, not a stored recording, to operate the Service.

d. Technical & usage data

Basic technical information needed to run and secure the Service, such as request logs and error diagnostics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your Garmin health or activity data for advertising.

4. How Garmin data is handled

Data obtained from Garmin Connect is treated as sensitive health information. Specifically:

5. Service providers we share data with

We use a small number of trusted third-party processors to run the Service. They may process your data only on our instructions and only to the extent needed to deliver their function:

ProviderPurpose
Garmin ConnectSource of the activity & health data you authorise us to import
ClerkAccount creation, sign-in, and authentication
Fly.ioCloud hosting and database infrastructure
AnthropicThe AI model that powers the assistant’s understanding and responses
DeepgramSpeech-to-text transcription of your voice input
ElevenLabsText-to-speech so Alke can speak its replies

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

6. Data storage & security

Your data is stored on secured cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access is restricted, and each user’s records are logically isolated so that one user cannot access another user’s data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active so we can provide the Service. When you delete specific entries, disconnect Garmin, or delete your account, the associated data is removed from our active systems. Residual copies may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten in the normal backup cycle.

8. Your choices and rights

To exercise any of these, email joven.kemp@getalke.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honour those rights and will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

9. Children

Alke is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers to protect it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.

12. Contact
